Developed with a passion for outdoor life, Gumbies Islander Flip-Flops provide the freedom of minimalistic footwear while ultimately protecting the sole.

From the experiences of travel, sports and exploration our journey has led us to design, develop and manufacture what we believe to be the best all round simplistic footwear one will ever own.

Gumbies follow the contours of the foot, the arch of the sole and most importantly provide comfort between the toes, whilst using the most practical, natural and recycled planet friendly materials where possible.

Recycled Textiles

Our choice of canvas straps made with cotton strands from recycled textiles reduces the need for excessive cotton farming, which can be water-inefficient.

Gumtread™

We chose recycled rubber as the base material for our innovative outsoles with the dual purpose of flexibility and durability in mind. This second-life material avoids the need for further rubber farming, which often involves environmentally damaging forest clearance.

With each purchase of Gumbies flip-flops, a mangrove tree is planted in Mozambique, Madagascar or Kenya. Mangrove trees specifically are enriching to the environment due to their ability to store up to 4 times the amount of carbon of other trees.
